You Check Your Tires During the Winter, so why not Check Your Concrete?
It seems like a strange question, but your car tires and concrete have quite a bit in common, especially as Fort Worth chills for the winter months.
In the same way that cold temperatures make your rubber tires shrink (requiring you to dig up a bag of quarters and head to the gas station to add air), so too does your concrete react to the dropping temperatures. Though instead of air compressing inside the concrete, the stone itself is what changes shape.
You can’t see this process with the naked eye, of course.
But it happens on a microscopic level, and over a large amount of concrete, the issue compounds. When virulent Texas temperatures rise and fall, they get worse, year after year. Sure, a square foot of pavement might only expand a hair’s length, but what about a hundred square feet? And what if the pavement is flush against a home foundation or something that won’t budge? And what if this pavement expands and contracts weekly for a decade?
This is when concrete will crack, crumble, or fault. We’re talking about the bad stuff:
-Longitudinal Joint Faulting
-Transverse Joint Faulting
-Ponding Water
-Uneven Roadways
But none of the above are a death sentence, DFW.
You Don’t Have to Replace the Concrete just have it lifted:
When those car tires deflate, you don’t buy new tires. So why would you buy new concrete?
In the same way you fill up tires with air during cold months, NorTex can provide concrete repair in Fort Worth, Dallas, and the wider metroplex. We conveniently use non-invasive techniques that are faster, cheaper, and easier than our competitors. And we focus on one goal: leaving YOU satisfied with our work.
So how do we do it? Here are a few of our tricks:
POLYURETHANE FOAM INJECTION
A state-of-the-art invention, polyurethane foam is something you walk over, drive on, but never see, each and every day in Fort Worth and Dallas.
This foam allows NorTex repair crews to drill through your damaged concrete and inject malleable support to fill empty space. The foam raises the concrete slab as more in injected, raising it back to a level plane. Then, we mend the concrete, good as new.
POLYGRINDING
Usually performed in combination with foam injection, NorTex uses ploygrinding to shave down unnecessary bumps between panels in the concrete. Our polygrinding efforts consistently improve drive quality index, and allow us to repair as quickly as one half lane mile per day.
JOINT SEALANT APPLICATION
On small grade repairs, we use handy tools to accurately and swiftly apply sealant between non-conjugal concrete parts. This can take the form of a curb against a sidewalk, stars against a home foundation, and so on. Our sealant application process is rapid and long lasting, and aids our concrete repair process to keep Fort Worth moving.
